We use a unique polyurethane foam solution to lift and level concrete... without having to replace the slab!
Midwest winters are harsh not only on your buildings but also on your foundation and pavement. As the Earth freezes and thaws throughout the seasons, the ground expands and contracts, pushing and pulling on pavement. This causes a lot of strain on the concrete and the main reason why your pavement and building foundations become uneven.
Removing the concrete and repouring is an expensive and cumbersome process. That is why United Spray Foam offers concrete leveling services. Instead of removing and replacing concrete, we re-level the ground beneath the concrete!
You may have heard of this concrete repair method referred to as "slab jacking" or "mud jacking" but instead of dirt or concrete, we use sprayed polyurethane foam. This creates a more effective, permanent solution for leveling concrete.

Concrete Leveling Michigan
Slab JackingThe idea behind slab jacking is simple. We inject a substance into the soil beneath the pavement or foundation. The added volume then lifts, levels, and evens the concrete. Typically, the compound is a mixture of soil, concrete, limestone. The term "mud jacking" refers to the same process but simply different materials.
At United Spray Foam Insulation, we prefer to utilize a more recent method referred to as "structural foam leveling." Foam leveling injects a 2-part polymer mixture beneath the concrete slab. When the two parts mix, their chemical reactions create a new substance that both hardens and expands, lifting the concrete above and evening the surface. |
Structural foam leveling vs Slab jackingThere are various pros and cons to both structural foam leveling and slab jacking. Ultimately you will find that structural foam leveling will have the longest-lasting effect on concrete leveling. Because slab jacking uses a mixture of soil and concrete, it is susceptible to the same elemental risks as your concrete. It is going to erode and eventually unbalance your pavement. So, while slab jacking is cheaper, mainly because of the materials, you can anticipate having to do it all over again in 5-10 years.
Structural foam leveling is plastic-based (when it hardens) and therefore does not erode. It is also more versatile. The compound requires less equipment to mix, so our crew can access harder-to-reach areas. However, there may be more upfront expenses. The structural foam compound can be hazardous to use and requires extra safety training. You will need professional expertise like ours to utilize structural foam leveling. But where you are spending more upfront, you get more value when utilizing our foam-based concrete leveling service. Not only are you getting our professional service, but you are getting the longevity of our product. |
